The high-level English-speaking medical student

Case Study - SugarApple Communications

Our client was a medical student who was preparing a feature scientific article for a national peer-reviewed biomedical journal that strives for the academic rigour and quality. He was an articulate native english speaker but on a tight deadline for submission. As with all journal articles, there were specific criteria to be met and he was struggling to keep to the required word count. His challenge was to reduce the text but maintain the integrity of his work and not dilute the scientific impact and explanatory value of the piece. We worked with him to fine-tune the article for flow and readability, condense necessary parts and re-organise it to ensure the journal criteria were met. The critical content was not lost and it was accessible to the intended audience. Our client achieved his goal of having his first scientific article accepted for publication.
